Fallout 3: Point Lookout (2009) MicroReview

Fallout 3 expansion adds unique new locale and enemies, but arbitrary difficulty spike makes this experience more tiresome than fun. Supposedly weaker enemies can inexplicably take and dish out significantly more damage than in previous installments, which makes quicksaving a very real necessity. Story is fairly middle-of-the-road, though there are a few very engaging side quests- “The Velvet Curtain” for example, in which you follow the cold trail of a Chinese spy, is worth the price of admission alone. Beware strange performance dips in the episode’s boardwalk area.
