Batman: Arkham Knight (2015) MicroReview

Third in Rocksteady’s Batman trilogy boasts a wonderful narrative hook, incredible performances, and a much more dense, focused open world. Batmobile segments are a marvel, introducing an unexpectedly novel interpretation of ‘bullet hell’ combat, and driving around Gotham is a dream. Unfortunately the initial mystery of its narrative, while a fun journey, doesn’t amount to much, and a few of the story’s emotional wallops are robbed of lasting significance by the end. Still, an achievement of the highest order and a game that must be experienced.
